This comes from recruiters. Basically, Louisiana is one of the most talented states in the country, and almost everyone wants to go to Louisiana State University. You can recruit at the top 5 levels and hardly leave the state. Working with a strong resource and fan base, they have the highest ceiling in the country. If Saban stays there, they will become what Bama is now. Find the right person, they may be that person in the future.

Based on BenW’s comment-LSU and OSU are the only two (1) they have a large number of talents in their country/region, and (2) there is no P5 competitor in another state (which is good) when Cincy moves to Change at B12).
You can also read how Huey Long (aka The KingFish) did his best to ensure that LSU is the only football power in the state (Godfrey/SZD made fun of this offseason episode-I'm so excited for this). The political structure of Louisiana does everything possible to support Louisiana State University as a true football powerhouse in the state and prevent other FBS schools from becoming secondary professional schools. You will never see one of the G5 schools in Louisiana as progressing as Cinsey did in Ohio, because politicians will prevent this from happening.

LSU's argument is based entirely on potential. Many people believe that if Saban stayed at LSU instead of going to Bama, he might be more dominant.
However, I think OSU is a better plan than Bama. Since 1960, they have had 2 (!) losing seasons: 1988 and 2011. In more than 60 years, they have 16 seasons with a record of less than 0.750. There is almost never a low season. Even Bama has gone through a very terrible stage. It's easier to mess up in Alabama than at Oregon State University.
I would agree with tOSU more than lsu, because of the money, just for easier meetings, but support Bama to leave behind the coach and enter their plan... Wait... It just means more .

TAMU is definitely not better than UF. You will always be in the shade of burnt orange, and now they come to the SEC. The expectation of the national championship is not even talked about. This is a great job, but UF is definitely better.

There is still a lot of room for guessing here. I definitely don't think this is a deal for Florida
1) Real interest means he is interviewing or is their number one person? 2) He did not make it clear that he wanted a stable program. Florida may be one of the most unstable states in the SEC. Since Spurrier, only Meyer has done it for more than 3 years.
On the other hand: 1) I guess Florida can provide more than we can 2) SEC
I don't think Florida is unstable; I just think that the employees they hire have not yet succeeded. Florida does not have the systemic problems you see in FSU, Miami, etc. However, the pressure of VT is lower than that of UF, but the upper limit of UF is much higher than VT. It all depends on what you are looking for in the coach.

In my opinion, UF is a bit unstable in my opinion because after their initial success, they fired their coaches after the third year among about 3 coaches in the past.
Their advertisements also cover up the scandal with the women's basketball team (I believe). I know that Gators desperately wants their ads to be fired.
Have you seen Auburn? Ha ha. The political submarine school is held every 2-4 years.

Maybe instability is the wrong word, but they fired McElwain and now Mullen because they both went through several very successful seasons and participated in the SEC Championship. Whether the rumbling around Mullen was painful, it was not entirely a sure expression. The US Securities and Exchange Commission believes that they will win the Eastern Conference every year. The competition is too fierce.
To be honest, UGA or UF should win 4 times in 5 years.

I just graduated from UF in May, and I can tell you everyone liked Mullen until he started losing. If he did not make a very stupid comment, I believe he will still be there, no matter what inexplicable loss occurs. He is the kind of coach you like. When you win, he makes a good voice, but when you lose, his voice sounds salty, and fans complain that he is angry with him. Mcelwain’s employment is just a bad one on his head
Another thing is how far does he see? If he wants to participate in Natty's campaign as soon as possible, he must pass through many schools to enter the FL playoffs, and the road to the championship is usually only through Clemson of the ACC. If he doesn't care much about this now, but wants to prove that he can succeed at the P5 level, as the head coach as a stepping stone to his ideal school, maybe it proves that certain things in FL are more worthy of his efforts. I still think that besides money, there are a lot of coaching decisions. Basically, unless they say it publicly, we don't know what their decision-making criteria are.
VT vs UF is an interesting thinking exercise. I think a good coach can win anywhere.

Both my parents went to Georgia, and my dad is a big fan of UGA. He heard that UGA's offensive coordinator may be Florida's primary target. I hope so.
Mullen's annual salary at UF is $7.57 million. I don't know how much Whit is willing to pay, but there are many factors that will affect Napier IMO's decision. I have to imagine that UFIDA will provide more dollars, no matter how high we go. But the higher price tag also brings less patience for success while competing in one of the toughest sectors in CFB.
In VT, his base salary will not be so high, but if Whit writes in the ACCCG, NY6 Bowl, playoffs, etc. bonuses... In an easier way to participate in these games, will he be able to get a comparable sex?

Don't get excited because of Napier. Fired by Dabo (well he was still young), the offense didn't fully ignite it. 2 games with a total offense of less than 300 and a few games with a total of less than 400. Not a super inspirational and energetic person-feels like Fu in this respect. no feelings.

I agree, but I would rather go to Dave Clausen or Mike Houston. Long-term head coach who knows how to build a culture. I would rather win the Beamer/Mike Young culture for a long time than sign a pair of Andrew Brown/Quinn Blanding blue chips and turn off.

I agree with this to some extent. Compared with Fuente's last two offenses in Memphis, his offense has absolutely no bright spots.
I think if we also bring in some proven P5 recruiters and coordinators with him, I will be excited about this recruitment. In my opinion, bringing Napier's Louisiana staff to Blacksburg is not an upgrade to Fuente for me.
VT: 4-5 million per year. Beautiful mountains, good weather. Nice campus. Able to breathe in the countryside 5 minutes from the campus. Expectations: Run a clean program, beat UVA, participate in bowling, and win half the time along the coast and meetings every 3-4 years.
UF: 7-8 million per year. Flat land, not even close to the beach. Hotter than nose. Can't talk to campus, but living in the city is a big time for me. Expectations: Win more than 10 games a year, beat FSU, win the Eastern Conference every year, and maybe even beat Bama...

From the beginning of May to October, the hot weather in Gainesville, Florida is very muggy, with no sea breeze. Incredibly wet, Yuuuch! I didn't know that I would call Gainesville, Florida a rather large city. The population in 2020 is 141k. Decent size, but not very big.

Winning ACC in VT is much easier than winning SEC in UF (not to mention that they might put Alabama and Auburn with UF and UGA in the East); I think the appropriate coach in VT will be 5-6 million Dollar.
Winning the ACC does not mean winning the national championship.
You can get the Florida roster ready, such as uga in 2-3 years. VT will never have such talents.

Gainesville is not a big city, it is definitely just a typical university town and surrounding area, but yes, if you spend the summer there, you hope to sweat every time you go out

Posted this on another post, but this one seems to be hotter. ---I have always wanted to know how our current players align with the offensive/defensive style of each coach (Napier, Huff, Clausen and Chadwell). I know portals will also work, but it's interesting to hear French or Joe weigh whose plans will help us achieve the fastest turnover. Don't wait 2-3 years or years for their recruits to contribute.

As others have posted, a great coach will be able to plan around the advantages of the players he has, while recruiting players who can best execute the plan he ultimately wants to execute. Hope we can get a great coach who can play our talents on the roster without really dropping for a year or two before we see some success.
